Chiro Care at
Curtin Chiropractic Centre

Here at Curtin Chiropractic Centre we offer a choice of techniques and have other services available. We also recommend what to do on your first visit.

Techniques used at Curtin Chiropractic Centre

Sacro Occipital Technique

Although the practice mainly uses the Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT), we still believe in the traditional chiropractic care as an adjustment.

SOT is a gentle, non-invasive technique suitable for everyone. Its benefits are like that of traditional chiropractic, going far beyond the spine, reaching out to every organ and cell of the body to restore health.

Traditional Chiropractic

If you prefer traditional chiropractic care or SOT care, the choice is always up to you. Traditional chiropractic care is a popular choice for patients.

The Activator®

Both of the chiropractors at the Curtin Chiropractic Centre also use an instrument called the ‘Activator®’

The activator is used as an alternative to manual adjustments in accordance with the proceedures of Activator Systems®.

What to expect on your first visit

  • Your first visit with us should take about 30 minutes.
  • Upon your arrival, we give you a form to fill out in order for us to get to know you better. Alternatively you can download a copy of this one page form now, print it out, fill it in and bring it along with you.
  • After filling out the form, you may choose to watch an introductory video about chiropractic care.
  • We then proceed to the consultation room and discuss your history in detail to establish, in your words, what is causing the problem or problems you are experiencing.
  • After a thorough history, we discuss and go through a series of examinations involving postural, neurological, orthopaedic and chiropractic tests. These examinations are non-invasive and you only need to remove your shoes for this part of the session.
  • The cause of your problem will be analysed, evaluated and discussed with you prior to the commencement of your treatment. In many cases treatment may begin immediately.
  • A series of chiropractic adjustments will be discussed and performed according to your individual needs. The goals for your wellbeing will be set and monitored throughout your chiropractic care to ensure we are keeping on track.
  • Chiropractic care consists of a series of "adjustments" designed to alleviate stress on nerves, muscles and joints of the body. Each adjustment builds on the one before it, gradually enticing the body to remain in a state of correction. Your care is based on the three stages of healing:- 1) Relieving Pain. 2) Correcting the cause 3) Preventing a relapse.
  • Depending on your condition, you may be given some home care advice, which will further help with your recovery as an important part of your treatment.
  • For your convenience EFTPOS and Electronic Health Fund Processing is available.
  • Free car parking for one to two hours is also available.
