Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a healing science and art form which began in 1895. Chiropractic restores health by removing interference  to the nervous system thus allowing the body to heal itself naturally.

Q. What does Chiropractic do?
Chiropractic essentially restores function to the Neuromusculoskeletal systems of the body predominantly by a series of spinal adjustments designed to improve nerve communication.

Q. Who can chiropractors treat?
Chiropractors can treat virtually anyone, it is safe for newborns to the elderly.

Q. Will it hurt?
At Curtin Chiropractic Centre we pride ourselves on providing safe, efficient, non-invasive techniques of Chiropractic. This results in minimal discomfort.

Q. What is that noise?
Gasses released in the joint space makes that popping noise you can usually hear during an adjustment.

Q. Do I need X-rays?
During your first visit in particular we will be able to determine if you will require any X-rays. This does  not apply to everyone of course but it does depend on your condition at the time of any visitation. If after any  of the visits we determine we require an X-ray we can organise this for you.

Q. Is this dangerous?
Chiropractors undergo five to six years of full time study to provide chiropractic care appropriate to your  condition. Chiropractic has been shown to be very safe when provided by a qualified Doctor of Chiropractic.

Q. What is your qualification doctor?
Depending on which degree is studied and at which institution the degree is studied at, a Chiropractor’s qualification usually takes a minimum of five years of full-time studying for a chiropractic degree.
